What are the requirements to be registered as an importer of petroleum products with PBPA?
Requirements needed for OMCs registration with PBPA
- Application letter;
- A certified true copy of the following;
- Certificate of Incorporation;
- Petroleum Wholesale license issued by EWURA;
- Business Trading License;
- TRA Importation License;
- TIN Certificate;
- VAT Certificate;
- Memorandum and Article of Association;
- Hospitality agreement(s) or proof of own storage facility;
- Specimen signature of at least two representatives;
- List of staff responsible for handling all operations related to receiving petroleum products;
- Three months’ volume of importation projections;
- Letter from BRELA showing the current status of the company, including;
- Name of Shareholders (number of shares should be stated);
- Name of Directors;
- The last time the company filed returns;
- Comfort letter from OMC banker stating the OMC’s financial position;
- Tax clearance certificate and;
- The source of financing is proved by a letter from a financier committing to finance the OMC.
